Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1932 Paragraph one of this Act states:             WHEREAS in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-four at Old Slaughter?s Coffee House Saint Martin?s Lane in the city of Westminster a society for the prevention of cruelty to animals was established by divers benevolent persons having for its object the mitigation of animal suffering and the promotion and expansion of the practice of humanity towards the inferior classes of animated beings: Section 4 states Objects of Society.           4. The objects of the Society shall be to promote kindness and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals and to do all such lawful acts as the Society may consider to be conducive or incidental to the attainment of those objects.
